Cookie policy

The browser storage this website uses, and how to change your choice. Last updated 25 October 2026.

How consent works

When you first visit, we ask whether you accept optional analytics. “Accept optional”, “Reject optional” and “Manage preferences” are equally available. Nothing optional is used until you actively accept: scrolling, browsing or closing the message does not count as consent. Rejecting does not affect how you use this website.

Your choice is remembered for 180 days. After that, or if we change what we ask for, we ask again.

Changing or withdrawing your choice

Use “Cookie settings” at the bottom of any page. If you withdraw, analytics stops at once on this device and in other open tabs of this website. The visit code is removed, and we ask our server to revoke your receipt and delete the analytics records linked to it. We will not restart analytics on your next visit unless you accept again.

Deletion happens when that request reaches our server. If it cannot be delivered (for example you are offline), your browser keeps a note and retries on your next visit, and analytics cannot start again until it succeeds. If you never return, the linked records are deleted by our clean-up, which runs at least once a day, after the receipt expires or after 90 days, whichever comes first.

After a withdrawal, our server keeps only a minimal record that your receipt was revoked, with no page views, for up to 30 days, or until the receipt’s original expiry if that is sooner. This stops the old receipt from being used again.

Browser privacy signals

If your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, we treat it as a refusal of optional analytics and do not show the consent message. This also applies if you accepted earlier: analytics stops and we ask our server to delete the linked records. While the signal is on, analytics cannot be switched on in Cookie settings. To allow analytics, turn the signal off in your browser settings.
